One of the greatest Blues Voices of all time. I remember her from the late 60's and 70's and in the late 80's, walked into a club, heard a familiar voice and was thrilled to see Martha again. Thoughts and Prayers for the family.

I remember being at Geno’s here in Houston and saying to a lady "Have you ever heard of Martha Turner, she’s singing here tonight, I just love her music, wish I could meet and sing with her one day". Next thing I knew they called Martha Turner to the stage and the lady next to me got up. She took the mic and said to me. "Pick up your jaw baby and come up here and sing with me". That was quite an experience. My prayers are with the family. She will truly be missed.

Martha Turner was fabulous. A part of my youth spend listening to Marth belt 'em out. What a wondeful entertainer.
Rest in peace, Martha.
