Meenakshi (“Meena”) Peruvamba, our beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the age of 92. Born November 22, 1932, in Kurnool, India, Meenakshi’s life was a testament of her love, compassion, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Janaki and Subramaniam Iyer; her sisters Narayani, Lakshmi, and Saroja; and her son-in-law, Dr. Serugudi R. Mani.
Meena is survived by her daughter, Rajeswari Mani; her sisters Sarada, Kalyani, and Radha; her granddaughter, Dr. Sandhya Mani Daigle and her husband, Brian; and her great-grandson, Keshav Naveen Daigle.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sobia Ozair, Dr. Mark Posner, the staff at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, and The Crossing at Clarity Hospice team for their compassionate care during Meena’s final days.
She was known for her delicious Indian meals - opening her heart and kitchen to countless families, offering both nourishment and comfort. Her cooking was a means of bringing people together. Meena’s affection for others was evident not only to her family and friends, but to the many children that she cared for outside of her own.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 8:30 a.m.
In memory of Meena, let us celebrate the warmth she brought into our lives and the love she gave so freely. May her soul rest in peace.
