I went to High School with Orvin and he was a kick to have around. He was very smart and very funny and a classy man.

I wish that I had not lost touch with him as I would have loved to hear of his Air Force adventures.

I can't believe it has been nearly 20 years since I met Orv. Talking with him around work always made the time enjoyable and pass quickly. His passing leaves an empty space that shall be filled with fond memories. My prayers for Orv and my condolences for his family.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Orv just after he transitioned to civilian life in July 1989. One of the most pleasurable individuals I've had the good fortune to cross paths with. A master orator with never a lack of a good story to tell, never failing to greet me by name no matter how long it had been since our last face to face. He is now and will continue to be so dearly missed. My prayers to Harriet and his family and friends that mourn his loss.

I have many found memories of Orv and my Grandma and I enjoying a festive 4th of July early breakfast at either Mimi's Cafe or Polly's Pies. Also grand times in Lake Arrowhead playing domino's and card games and visiting Lake Arrowhead Village shopping center and browsing at the stores. Orv was a caring guy and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and to listen to anything you had to say. He will be greatly missed and I shall treasure all the memories.
Say hi to my Dad, Grandma and Uncle for me and I know you guys are watching over us.

Orv was a sparkplug member of the 13th Squadron of the 65 class at the Air Force academy who combined hard work and good humor in big doses. To be able to call him a friend was a "good thing". He will be missed by many! God speed slipping these surly bonds of earth and going beyond the clouds above.

It was an honor to know and to work with Orv. I got to know and work with him during his last USAF assignment before his retirement. He always had a great outlook on life an could see the humor in everything. He was truly a treasure and a pleasure to know. Orv always had a humorous story to tell or something upbeat to say whenever we would meet. I will miss him as will all those whose lives he touched.

What a character. I was fortunate to spend a delightful afternoon fishing with Orv. I don't recall catching many fish but no matter the conversation was lively. I treasure the memory.

Dear Harrier, we were most saddened to hear of Orv's passing. You have both been dear friends for over 30 years, and we are full of fond memories of the happy times we have shared. Orv went out of his way to make Geoff feel welcome during Geoff's time in DC, and the friendship that quickly developed between our families made our tour of duty in the United States one of the happiest we have had. We send our deepest condolences. We shall not forget him.

Wish I could have seen him up at Denny's last year, we never know. Really enjoyed being around Orv and working with him for years at the ol place. He was special, had a lot of knowledge about a lot of things. Always had time to engage in conversation and have fun. I will miss having another chance to visit him here, guess later, thanks for everything Orv. Willie Curd. Ret. Hughes/JT3 1970-2007
