Oscar was born on October 22, 1951 at Fabella Memorial Hospital in the Manila, Philippines. His parents were Pastor and Victoria Esguerra. Oscar was raised in Manila. Oscar had three siblings. He had two older brothers, Ross and Victor and an older sister, Nadya. As a young child, Oscar showed his creative ability in many ways. In his spare time he liked to play outside and hang out with friends. Friends and acquaintances found Oscar an easy man to get to know, and those close to him would often praise his open, practical style of communication and relaxed approach to life in general. Oscar was uncomplicated and straightforward in his relationships, which allowed him to accept people for who they were. While growing up, some of his best friends were Nonet Abad and Roland Peralejo. Oscar was blessed with six children, three sons; Joseph, Kristoffer, Kevin; and three daughters; Jennifer, Kathryn, Kristine. They were also blessed with four grandchildren, Jada, Jaelyn, Kaela and Layla. Oscar held close traditional values and as a result, faith was important to him. He was a member of Charismatic Ecumenical Ministries. He accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ, as his personal savior in October 2006. He found immense pleasure in all his church activities. Oscar passed away on August 23, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He fought a brave battle against cancer. He is survived by his wife Judy, his children; Jennifer, Kathryn, Kristine, Kristoffer, Kevin and his grandchildren; Jada, Jaelyn, Kaela, Layla; his brothers, Ross and Victor and his sister, Nadya. To my dearest Uncle Oscar. I will always remember your loving kindness and generosity towards our family, and to people in general. We will miss your laughter, your wisdom, and the joy you brought into our lives. May God bring comfort and bless your family during this very difficult time. We love and miss you Uncle Oscar. May you rest in peace.

Dear Oscar... When I first came to Vegas to meet my new family, you were the first person that I felt comfortable around. I come from a very small family. The Murillo's, not so small. It was a little intimidating. You and about fifty beers(25 each), made it less so. You had a knack for making people feel comfortable. You always had time for everybody, especially the kids. You gave so much of yourself. We were all blessed and lucky to have a little piece. I'll miss your charisma, your sense of humor, and your generosity. That and your laugh. That wild, crazy laugh. I can still hear it now. You were one of a kind and loved by all. We were blessed to have you.

Not being able to see you depart and express my last words properly has affected me deeply, and for that no amount of words can describe the respect I had for you. From advice about life to your humor that's unmatched, you always seemed to put a smile on the faces of everybody in your presence, regardless of what struggle or pain you would be facing. I will miss you Uncle, and much love to your family.

Not one day passes that we don't feel the sadness and void in our lives since you left us. Your relentless teasing, quips, and jokes always managed to bring life and laughter everywhere you went. You were a blessing to everyone you touched. We miss and love you so much Oca <3<3<3

There are no words to express the deep sorrow I am feeling. It's like losing my Dad all over again. Oca was not only my beloved brother in law, he was also a father figure to many. He was the "wiseguy" in our family and was always the life of any party. To know him is to love him. And we all love him dearly. RIP Oca..
