Pamela Eversmeyer Obituary

Pamela Ruth Scott Eversmeyer, a seventy-two year old librarian at Ecole Classique School, passed away suddenly on January 15, 2019 at East Jefferson General Hospital. Pam, a native New Orleanian, graduated from Warren Easton High School. She continued her education at LSU in Baton Rouge, The College of Charleston and the University of New Orleans, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education with a minor in library science. After two years of teaching second grade at Torah Hebrew School, she began a life-long career as a school librarian at Ecole Classique School where she taught library and study skills to generations of Spartans of all grades. Pam was beloved of scores of students who still think fondly of this talented teacher. She was also a devout United Methodist who was a faithful disciple to preschool children for over forty years. She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Walter Eversmeyer; brother, Wally Scott; three daughters, Jenny Bolster, Katie Fleming, and Melissa Eversmeyer; and six grandchildren, Travis, Scott, Evan, and Emma Kate Bolster; and Jackson and Caroline Fleming. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 21, at 11:00 AM at Munholland United Methodist Church, 1201 Metairie Road, Metairie, La. 70005 with visitation and reception to follow. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Children's program at Munholland United Methodist church in her name. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online at www.lakelawnmetairie.com.

Dear Duke and Family. It's hard to believe a year has passed already. I have so many fond memories of Pam at church and her school where she nurtured Ariel. But mostly I remember that great smile and infectious laugh which made me giggle too. Hugs and prayers to all of you

I have many fond memories of Pam . Especially when we were Girl Scout leaders together. One memory that I remember as one of our favorites was when we took "advanced " camping together at Camp Whispering Pines. In order to take our troop Camping we had to take some sort of camping thing. So here we were.... neither one of us had ever set up a tent or paddled a canoe. The tent took a while but we got it done! Then we were on the Tangipahoa River in the canoe. There came a place that was hard to maneuver and we watched as the people ahead of us tumped over!!!!!! As their apples and other stuff floated past us we looked at each other and said "we can do this" ....... And we did!!!!!! After that there were so many fun memories , with our girls and the others that we led for a long time.Yes Pam will be missed. I am so sorry for your losing her . Love and prayers to you all.

Jenny, Katie, Melissa and Dr. Duke,
My sincerest condolences. Your house was like a second home and your family was like my own while being classmates with Jenny. I will always cherish the memories of Mrs E and those good times growing up. Mrs Pam is an Ecole legend and is probably reminiscing up there with Mr Sal and Mrs Rea.
Love y'all,

I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Going to the library was one of my favorite activities throughout elementary school, and I really enjoyed how she read the books to our class. I actually use the same approach when I go to my son's school and read there. May she rest in peace.

Dear Duke & Family,
I was shocked and saddened by the loss of Pam. She has meant so much to so many people, both adults and children. Although perhaps especially the children. She was always so giving, caring and joyful. She leaves a legacy of love and will be greatly missed by many at Munholland UMC and in the community. I know your loss will likely be the greatest. She loved you all so much! You are all in my heart and in my prayers.

Dear Eversmeyer Family,
I am so said to hear about Pam's passing. I enjoyed my yearly December visit to Ecole at Christmas and our little talk and catch up in the library. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayer and may the Lord keep you in the palms of His hands at this difficult time.
