Dr. Philip Richardson

Dr. Philip Everett Richardson, age 82, of East Dennis and formerly of Winchester, passed away September 21, 2011. Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Mabel (Coombs) and Edward C. Richardson, Sr. A graduate of Medford High School, Tufts University, and the University of Pennsylvania Dental School, he played hockey and football at Medford High School and Tufts University and was the co-captain of the Tufts University hockey team. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy. Throughout his life he enjoyed golf, tennis, and skiing and for years was a member of the Winchester Country Club and the Cummaquid Golf Club of Yarmouth Port. He practiced dentistry in Medford for 40 years and upon his retirement, the practice continued to be developed by his daughter, Dr. Sarah E. Richardson in Belmont, MA. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Joan A. (Yates); his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Leonard Wagner of Moorestown, NJ, Kathleen and Eric Winkler, of Merrimack, NH, and Sarah E. Richardson of Belmont, MA; and his three grandchildren: Emily Winkler of Boston, MA, Jonathan Winkler of Merrimack, NH, and Caroline Wagner of Moorestown, NJ. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Phil was brother to the late Edward C. Richardson, Frances Clark, Cora Cutter, and Ruth Cashman. Services will be private.
