Sandy Gresly-Cohen, a force of nature born in Battle Creek, Michigan on March 24, 1958, has finally traded in her earthly existence for a heavenly one on October 22, 2025, in Marshall, Michigan. But let’s be clear: This isn’t just an ordinary farewell; this is a celebration of a life peppered with laughter, love, and an indomitable spirit that could rival a caffeinated squirrel!
In a world that sometimes takes itself a tad too seriously, Sandy was the outrageous comedian we all needed. She radiated humor, effortlessly turning the mundane into the magnificent, and filled every room with her feisty energy like nobody’s business. Her heart was as big as her laugh, and she was known for being caring to those fortunate enough to cross her path. It’s no surprise that her marriage to Doug lasted a delightful 22 years, a testament to her fierce loyalty and commitment, she had to keep that guy entertained after all!
Sandy had a deep fondness for animals, the kind-hearted woman who always reserved a bit of her heart for her beloved horse, Holly, and could be seen cozied up to her furry sidekicks, Gracie the dog, and Ollie Burgers the cat. You’d often find her expressing her admiration for these lovable creatures while they indulged in their shenanigans. It was chaotic, it was delightful, and, well, it was absolutely Sandy.
When she wasn’t bringing joy to her animals, she could be found glued to the screen, indulging in her love for soap operas and old TV shows, it was not unusual to see the TV in the living room in only black and white. And let’s not forget about the sports! Doug managed to pull her into the wild world of wrestling, football, and baseball, where she brought her usual zest, cheering and jeering with the best of them.
Sandy leaves behind her cherished family, son Alan and husband Doug, who will carry forward her legacy of love and laughter. She may have left our plane of existence, but don’t think for a moment that her spirit won’t be felt in the sidelines or ringing through the inebriated laughter of gatherings for years to come. In fact, if you listen closely, you might just hear her witty remarks echo between the bases at the next baseball game or during a wild wrestling match, because that’s just how she rolled.
Rest easy, Sandy Gresly-Cohen. Your feisty, funny spirit will continue to inspire and amuse all those who had the privilege of knowing you.
