What a loss.Joe was a great example to me as I was first learning about the job. Good attitude and always earning his pay, not a shirker. He liked people and was always eager and willing to help them.


He will be missed!

I was searching for information on Grandma Vera E Barry and the next thing I knew I am sending Condolences to my cousin Joe´s family. So sorry for the loss. I am Kay, born in Ft Smith. This was the first time Joe and I met at Grandma's and the last time we saw/communicated with each other. I am the daughter of Joe´s Aunt, Blanche M. Torres (Barry).

So sad to hear about Joe´s passing. He was a pleasure to work with. Always taking his calls promptly, proactive and rarely complained. He was a good LEO. I ran into him several times after he retired and he was always cheerful and ready to catch up on life. Thank you for the memories Joe. You will be missed

This is a real loss to our community, he was good man. Joe was genuine and just had a natural ability to connect with young people having a profoundly positive impact on them. He sure did with me, he was a man I was drawn too, looked up too, and learned from in my high school years, he was a great example. God thank you for Joe, bless him and his family.

Rest in Peace Joe!! I always loved riding shotgun with you. the city of Longview was very lucky to have you guarding over them, keeping everyone safe. you taught me so much about being a peace officer. you will be missed. my condolences to your family!
