Sumithra PRABHU

Our friendship with Sumithra spanned over three decades. We shared her zeal for gardening and admired her innovative ways in Indian cooking. Her helping nature and large heartedness in sharing with others, we appreciated. We feel, we were enriched by our friendship with Sumithra . We always cherish her memory.

Dear Prabhu, Dev and Arvind,

We are so sorry to learn of Mrs. Prabhu's heavenly departure. We are praying for her departed soul and for your strength at this trying time. Mrs. Prabhu will always be in our heart. She touched our life in so many ways for many years and we have fond memories of her and her extended family of ODU. She was the glue who bound all of us together in our early years in America.

Although I knew her from childhood in India, Alpachi is one person who left an indelible mark in my mind in USA right from the very beginning. The secret? Face it with a smile, she said, come what may. That was her message and that is what she lived for...can endure and will be better with time. May the Almighty give you all the strength and peace to endure her passing. She will be truly missed.
