Teri was born to Ronald and Mary Bryant of Rio Vista, Texas in 1981. She attended school and graduated from RVISD in 2000. Teri is one of four sisters whose bond stood strong through all of life’s trials. She leaned on them and them on her and they are all better as a result of the love that was nurtured in them by Ron and Mary.
She knew from an early age that she wanted to be in the medical field and specifically pediatrics. She set her mind to this goal early and achieved success as an RN at cook children’s in the NICU and eventually as a manager after she received her bachelor’s degree. Children were always a passion of hers and none more important to her than her own children who she loved deeply. She was constantly challenged and encouraged by her parents and used many of the traits instilled in her by them to achieve this lifelong dream.
Her husband of almost 20 years, Matt Gilbert was supportive of her career and admired her determination and success. They met at church camp but were first introduced at the Harris Hospital nursery in the first days of their lives as Matt was born on the 29th of December, one day before the love of his life, Teri, who joined on the 30th. They were married by Her uncle Tommy Johnston on May 10th 2003 the one year anniversary of their first date.
Teri is preceded in death by her uncle Tommy Johnston; niece, Abigail Faith Gilbert; and nephew, Tate Isaac Gilbert.
She is survived by her husband Matt Gilbert and their children, Lila 14, Kelsi 13, Belle 11, and Ian 8, all of Rio Vista; parents, Ron and Mary Bryant; and siblings, Amy Locker and husband Clint, Kara West, and Mary Ell Cagle and husband, LD, all of Rio Vista. Teri is also survived by her 2nd family the Gilberts: Mike and Marsha of Granbury, Jody and Cami of Granbury, and Brad and Kristin of Peaster; and grandfather in-law, RF Parkinson of Granbury. She is also survived by her beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She left her mark on this world as a loyal and loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She took great pride in her role as a mother of her children. She was a compassionate nurse, a fun loving friend and all of us knew that we could count on her.
