Thomas Anthony "Tommy" DeTraglia III, age 57, passed away early morning on Monday, May 13, 2019, at OSU East Medical Center after collapsing at home. He was born on May 4, 1962 in New London, Connecticut. Tommy was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved fast cars and guitars as well as his family and friends, of which he had many. Tommy will be sorely missed by all. He was preceded in death by his father Anthony "Tony" DeTraglia. Tommy is survived by his mother, Cynthia DeTraglia; step-father, Richard "Mac" McHenry; sisters, Gina Ison and Sylvana Whittaker; and nieces and nephew, Dorian Ison, Stefan Ison and Gabrielle Whittaker. Memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, May19, 2019 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where family will receive friends from 1 PM until time of service. Reception will follow from 4-7 PM at Gabby's Place, 3120 Olentangy River Road, Delaware, Ohio 43015. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroad Antigua Foundation, C/o Robert Epstein, Cowan DeBaets Abrahams & Sheppard LLP, 41 Madison Avenue 38th Floor, NY, NY 10010, or on their website at www.crossroadsantigua.org. This took me awhile to be able to write this, I did see this the day after the services and it took my breath away. The way Tommy lived his life one wouldn't ever think his calling would come so soon. I met him in 1984 at a flea market in Orlando of all places. He was always kind, fun, smart and as we knew then a talented musician. I swore I was in love, secretly of coarse but he knew I crushed on him. He was nothing but gentle and sweet. Til he left town. All of my group missed seeing him and sneaking into various clubs to watch "The Voice" play. He was a good person to us all and never turned us away when in need of the simplest things. Thanks for the memories I will never forget and in my heart you will always be my first crush/love (lol). My heart is broken for the loss of his unique soul. See you in the stars Tommy...

Tommaso - Sono Salvatore - Mi dispiace - We lost touch years back, and when I searched for you recently, I found this. I’m speechless and wish I would have found you sooner so we could relive some of those days past. I remember riding our motorcycles at break neck speeds, thrashing cars near the brink of crashing them, and playing music together, your axe blazing and my drums on fire together, creating a fire storm. Every time I think about those ol’days, I have remorse for not calling you sooner, and now I find this. Rest In Peace Tommaso.

I just found out about Tommys passing this week, and I am so sad to hear. Tommy changed my life buy getting me out of a terrible situation when I was 21. He pulled me out of a dark place and set me on a much better path. He was so encouraging and sweet to me and I will always be so grateful to him for that. He will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for saving me Tommy. I have had a great life because of you.

I just sent Tommy some pictures of us from California and it said his phone not found. I, by chance, found this obituary and am devastated beyond. We shared many happy memories in Cali, Arizona and Ohio. While we didn't talk but a couple times a year, (I kept bugging him to come see me), he will forever be one of my best friends. He helped me through some very dark days. God Bless his family, he loved you all so much. Peace to you.

I am so sorry. I saw Tommy every month when he came in to pay his insurance. He was kind and we had great honest conversation. I am sad beyond words. He was hopeful about the future and had BIG plans. He was a busy guy.
I will miss you Tommy!
