Thomas Coach "Whitey" Grafenauer

Whitey and I were classmates and sometimes teammates at St Rita and DBHS. We shared some real good times back in the day. He was a true standup guy who also knew how to have fun. Our condolences to his family.

I sat behind Tom in several classes at DB and while I didn't know him well, I always thought he was a true gentleman and a total class act. It sounds like he had a good life. I'm glad.

Tom was a star athlete and a friend to everyone. Please accept my sympathy.

I don't believe we ever met, but I am a Whitnall retiree (1984) and was in line to extend my condolences when it was time for mass to begin today.

First employed at the Hales Corners Elementary School in 1953 and I moved to Whitnall in 1960 and was an administrator from 1962 beginning as assistant high school principal, first middle school principal in 1970 and moved back to the Jefferson and Valley View in 1976. Coach was a great man when I came to Whitnall in early 2000s. My greatest condolences. He will be surely missed.

Always remember his smooth fielding of bouncing balls hit toward third base. Condolences.
