Vito PICCITTO

PICCITTO, Vito Vito Piccitto, 80, of Hartford, loving husband of the late Josephine (Maglieri) Piccitto, passed from this life on Sunday, (June 6, 2010). Mr. Piccitto was raised in Italy and came to the United States in 1958, and had lived in the Hartford community most of his life. He had been employed for 18 years by the Grayrock Soda Co. of Wethersfield and later, until his retirement in 1995, he had been employed by the M.D.C. of Hartford. He had been an avid outdoorsman and his interests included hunting and fishing. Mr. Piccitto is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gail Best and Donald Zima of East Hartford and by his son, Thomas McGee of Andover. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Celine Maglieri and his three grandchildren and their spouses; Kathleen Sullivan and her husband Timothy, William Best and his wife Lisa, and Kevin Best and his wife Angela. He is also survived by his six great grandchildren; Kristen and Timothy Sullivan, Ashley, Lindsey, Julianna and Izabel Best. He also leaves many relatives in Torino, Italy. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother and sister and by his son in law, William Best. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford, East Hartford on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 9 a.m. for the procession to St. Mary Church, 15 Maplewood Ave. East Hartford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. The interment service will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
