Family-Placed Obituary

WESLEY ALLAN COX The family of Wesley Allan Cox mourns his loss as a beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother and uncle. Wes passed away on June 18, 2012 after a heroic battle against cancer. Wes was born in Kansas City, MO on November 10, 1943 to Fannie Dorcas Newhart and Frank Lester Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents; older brother, Francis Lester Cox and two nephews, Francis L. Cox, Jr. and James R. Wirth. Wes is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia Lowman Cox and three stepchildren, William Lowman, Jr. (Suzie), Debra Hanifin (Chris) and Sheri Escalante (Juan). He has been a grandfather to Tyler, Emma, Alejandro, Abigail and Daniel. Still living are his sister, Lillian Ottie Wirth (deceased Howard); niece, Barbara Cox Fried (Steve); nephews, Randy Wirth (Sallie), Steve Wirth (Julie) and Mark Wirth (Laurie) and their children, Chelsey, Michael, James and Ana. Wes attended schools in Independence, MO and college at University of Missouri in Kansas City, MO. He was an avid enthusiast of Jazz music and belonged to the Jazz Arts Music Society of Palm Beach County. He worked for most of his adult years as an accomplished pianist as his college program included piano, music theory, classical music and improvisation. He performed with many musicians in Palm Beach County and throughout the United States and in the Islands. He played for many benefits including Hospice of the Palm Beaches. Wes managed and operated Lowman Warehouses, LLC, Lake Worth, FL. He was a parishioner of St. Luke's Catholic Church. His artistic talents included other musical instruments, photography, and computer technology. He enjoyed playing tennis until a few months ago, gardening, fishing, boating and snorkeling especially for lobsters and the beauty of the sea. His legacy will live on in a loving family and in many friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 21 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL HOME, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 21 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 2892 South Congress Avenue, Palm Springs, FL 33461 with the interment service following at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
