William Emmett Barkley

We grieve with you and your families, Wendy and Tara, for the loss of your father. He and your mother will remain as shining stars in our lives and the sources of many fond memories, especially on the Outer Banks.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Emmett Barkley. Emmett and Lani were dear neighbors to my father and mother, Wilfred and Cecile Bergeron for many years. They were kind and generous and always checking on their welfare. After my mother passed in 1995, Emmett and my dad developed a unique relationship, like a "son" looking after his aging "father."
