Deepest condolences to all who knew him. I can safely say that Bill imparted more wisdom than any other teacher I had in middle school, and not just in terms of world history. He could distill complex issues into things kids could understand, but without talking down to us. That's a rare gift. I remember my first day in his class pretty clearly; I hope someone has his "NO WHINING" placard on display somehwere. He was a mentor beyond the classroom as well; "outdoor ed" remains a cherished...

Some of my best childhood memories are of events Mr. H held at MMS. He was more than just a history teacher and he made a profound impact on his students. My heart goes out to his family, especially Jenn. Sending you all love and hope you find comfort in the stories you will hear in the coming days. Thank you for sharing your Dad with the rest of us.
