On Monday, June 30, 2014 at home. Loved son of the late Bernice and Bernard Levinson. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Stephen and Marcy, Robert and Bethann, and the late Laurie. Very special uncle of Megan, Adam, Mathew, Jonathan, and Rebecca. Nephew of Yank and Susan Levinson. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (3 lights west of Dufferin) for Service on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in the Pride of Israel Section of Mt. Sinai Memorial Park. Shiva on Friday at 632 Briar Hill Avenue. Memorial donations may be made to the Baycrest Foundation, 416-785-2875, www.baycrest.org/donations or the Reena Foundation, 905-764-1081, ext. 30.

Just learning of Rick’s passing now, many years after. I worked with Rick at Carswell, around 2004. Rick was one of the kindest, sweetest guys I’ve ever met. Truly a special and rare gem of a human. My heart goes out to his family, even if very belatedly.

My sincerest condolences to everyone whose life he touched - especially his nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished so dearly.
Even when he was struggling, he always had a way to make me smile or laugh. He was extremely caring, sensitive, generous,thoughtful, loving and often misunderstood. He inspired me in many ways through his constant encouragement and belief in me.
The last text message I received from him was on June 25th.
"I need to volunteer more - get out and be active for good causes. The work will come - I can afford to be patient - but I need to get out.....and get busy"
For me,and many, he was a beacon of light in a sometimes dreary world.
He was loved, and will be deeply missed.....

I knew of Rick through the silent film newsgroups for many years, but only met him in person two years ago at Cinecon 48 in Hollywood. Rick was generous, supportive and ever curious about his passions. The world will move on, but it is a lesser place without Rick Levinson.

So sorry to hear the news, only met Rick once, but he was an insanely dedicated Colleen Moore enthusiast. One of these days he will get his Colleen Moore box set. My thoughts are with his family.

I just heard of Rick's passing. He was a really sweet and caring guy who loved to laugh at funny movies. I'll really miss him at Cinecon later this month.

Terribly sorry to hear about Richard's passing. I have great memories of us making comic books together when we were kids, some of my favourite childhood memories. Rest in peace.
