Dan was a Missouri Synod Lutheran minister for 36 years. He was most recently a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Springfield, Missouri. He served as Pastor for churches in Bay City, Michigan, Urbandale, Iowa, and Ft. Walton Beach, Florida before retirement.

Survivors include: his wife, Monica; son, Mark Daniel Parsch, daughter-in-law Anna, and grandchildren, Lily and soon to be born baby boy Parsch, of Overland Park, Kansas; son, Michael Paul Parsch and daughter-in-law, Jennifer of Clive, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, David and Susan Parsch, and Timothy and Sherri Parsch, all of Florida; a sister, Deborah Sumner of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his mother-in-law, Lois Bertermann of Bloomington, Indiana; sister-in-law, Claudia Keller and husband Joe of Lillian, Alabama; brother-in-law, Jonathan Bertermann and wife Joan of Bloomington, Indiana; nieces; nephews; and many, many friends. Pastor Parsch will always be in my heart. He confirmed my son. He gave a beautiful sermon at my mother's funeral and at my sister's funeral. He was warm and understanding and I felt I was surrounded by angels. He helped us get through the two deaths in my family. I miss you Pastor Parsch...I will always remember you.

Monica and family...

...Roz and I just heard of Pastor Parsch's death; wow, October to mid-January is a long time...We SO much enjoyed worshipping with you and the boys and Pastor, when we lived in Waukee and worked with Dalen on his Music Ministry Board. Certainly wished I would have know you folks were in Nixa, as we live in Jeff City. I wish you the Lord's continued blessings as you continue to walk in your journey of faith and look forward to that day when you and Pastor will once again be together...oh, and Pastor Hoyer and his wife, also. Our thoughts and prayers

I just now heard of Pastor's death. He was a wonderful soul...he buried my mother, father and sister. Without him I never could have made it through. I will always remember him and his wonderful family. The best years of my life were the years as a member of Gloria Dei.
Always,

Monica and family
I was so sad to hear of Dan's death. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We are in Florida so we will not be able to be there to help celebrate his life. Thinking of you and wishing I could give you a hug in person. I will always remember you two greetings us when we moved to Quail Ridge and making us feel at home. It was such a blessing May Gods loving arms surround and support you.

I am greiving from the loss of the dearest of friends and one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met. Pastor Parsch was a neighbor who knew who I was even before I became an adult member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. I went through adult catechism with this kind and loving soul. I have not seen him from years and have always missed him. He and his God's words and lessons of comfort, love, forgiveness and grace have and continue to elevate my life. I have always loved you and will do so forevermore. Until we meet again, God blessings be upon you. You are missed on this earthly plane but will endure in my heart and soul forever. Love..Love...Love

Dear Parsch Family,

We are sorry to hear of your loss. Pastor Parsch married us and he was a neat guy and fellow fan of sports, movies, and history. My Johnston High and Air Force Academy buddies who were in the wedding commented on his "coolness".

I fondly remember Pastor's gentle guidance to me during my high school years. There was a time when I was asked to give the prayer before a school banquet, and I was urged to keep the Lord out of it. I spoke with Pastor Parsch, who urged me to follow my heart and make my prayer pleasing to God first. That guidance still works in my life today.

I even remember babysitting the boys once upon a time. Your family, and Pastor in particular, made a great impact on my life. I can't make it back for the visitation, but know that I will be saying a prayer for you all from here. God bless you all.

Mike: I sense from the comments of others that your dad was a 2 Cor 3:12 man. I feel sure he would ask us to read on through 5:9 so that we too can look forward to hearing "Well done, good and faithful servant." Until then, I grieve with you and look forward to the day you will introduce me to your dad in the heavenlies.

Dear Monica and Family: Kathy and I pray for our loving Savior's healing and comforting touch during this time of sadness for you and yours. Dan's last sermon at Redeemer was so uplifting and memorable; we discussed God's message to us with Redeemer friends that Dan delivered just two weeks ago. How blessed we were to be present and to have known your husband and father this side of eternity. What a day of rejoicing it will be when we're all joined together in heaven even while we mourn his passing on this side of eternity. Blessings and much love in Jesus, Ron and Kathy Merritt
