Opal Eubank Obituary

Opal Taylor Eubank

Opal Taylor Eubank, 83, of Madison Heights, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Claude Melvin Eubank.

Born Nov. 3, 1925, in Madison Heights, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward Taylor and the late Edna Elizabeth Watts Taylor. Mrs. Eubank was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Taylor.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Elois Jennings and Edna Morcom, and her husband, Bobby; four granddaughters, Glenda Ramsey and her husband, Keith, Teresa Thomas and her husband, Eric, Brianne Sullenger and her husband, Ben, and Lauren Harrell and her husband, Chris; six great-grandchildren, Justin and Jillian Ramsey, Bailey, Parker and Berkleigh Thomas and Claire Harrell; one sister, Bessie Moss; one sister-in-law, Marita Taylor; one cousin, Garland Taylor; two special friends, Dot Stinnett and Eve Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. All are residents of Madison Heights.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at Thomas Road Baptist Church Pate Chapel by Pastor Jonathan Falwell, Dr. Jim Moon and the Rev. David Heerspink. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the residence.

Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution is asked to consider Thomas Road Baptist Church, 1 Mountain View Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
