Emmett Tweedy Obituary
Emmett Tweedy departed this life Saturday, April 3, 2010, at his residence, 328 Prince St. He was born Feb. 10, 1916, to the late Stephen and Minnie Jane Tweedy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Emmett is survived by his wife, Shirley Linthicum Tweedy; two sons, Leroy Tweedy (Barbara) and the Rev. Delgardo Linthicum (Lisa); two daughters, Sonya Lee (David) and Evora Askins; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Amazing Grace Outreach Church, with the Rev. Delgardo Linthicum officiating. The family is receiving friends at 328 Prince St. and 209 Holcomb Path Road. The cortege will assemble at the church.
