Irene Klymko Irene Klymko, 88, of Manassas, passed away November 4th, 2010, at her residence.

Born August 14th, 1922 in Detroit, MI, Irene was the daughter of Nicholas and Victoria Kuras Tremba. She graduated as valedictorian from Chadsey High School, attended secretarial school for one year, and earned a degree in accounting. She was a member of the National Secretaries Association, acquiring the title of CPS (Certified Professional Secretary), and worked as an Executive Secretary for many years.

Her goals in life were to have a home, see that her two children were well educated, and to not ever be financially dependent on them. Mission accomplished!

Irene and her husband Walter (a.k.a. Vladimir) were members of the Bromeliad Society and attended conferences in Florida, Texas, and California. They attended many reunions of the USS Tuscaloosa and the USS Alaska in Clearwater, Philadelphia, Savannah, Cincinnati, Chicago, New Orleans, Omaha, and Tuscaloosa, AL, making friends throughout the country. They also enjoyed several cruises in their 61 years of life together. She traveled to Rome, Paris, Zurich, Munich, Frankfurt, Brussels, and Amerstam. She also explored Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong, and the Canadian Rockies.

They relocated to Florida from Michigan in 1986. She lived in Florida until moving to Virginia in July 2006. Activities in Florida's Beacon Woods included long walks in the morning, card playing in the afternoon, and dancing in the evening. After Walter passed away Irene became a member of Curves at the age of 82. Walter was interred at Florida National Cemetery in 2005 and Irene will join him there.

Besides her husband, Irene was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Carrie Johnson, and two brothers, Edward Tremba and Richard Tremba. Survivors include her children, Pearl Johnson and her husband Michael of Virginia, Paul Klymko and his wife Nancy of New York; four grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Johnson, Kevin Johnson and his wife Jessie, Christine Klymko, and Katie Klymko; two brothers, Norman Tremba and Julian Tremba; two sisters, Esther Forster and Lillian Kimberling; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 11th, 2010, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA, 20110. Funeral services will take place on Friday, November 12th, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kim Conway officiating.

Interment will take place in Florida at a later date.
