Brenda McClanahan Fischer Brenda (BJ) McClanahan Fischer, age 48, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at her home in Maryville, Tennessee.

She was of the Messianic Jewish faith, and a member of Ohev Yisrael Messianic Jewish Congregation, Newington, Va. Brenda enjoyed doing calligraphy and was very artistic, even designing a tote bag that was used for the Smithsonian Institution. She also enjoyed gem mining and collecting, and loved the mountains.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert C. McClanahan.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Fischer; parents, Jimmy and Peggy McClanahan of Mason Neck, Va.; other friends and relatives and beloved pets, Jaspurr and Storm.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 only on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge, Va. Services at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 13 at Ohev Yisrael Messianic Jewish Congregation, 8196R Terminal Road, off Backlick, Newington, VA 22079, followed by interment at Bethel Cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Liver Foundation. Arrangements by Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home of Woodbridge.
