Charlotte Harris

Charlotte Harris Charlotte Harris, 89, went home to be with Jesus on Friday November 26, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Marcia Holmes, Kill Devil Hills, NC. Charlotte was born on June 11, 1921 in Washington D.C. and spent most of her adult life in her home in Dumfries, Virginia where she also retired from the Army Civil Service.

She is the beloved mother of Marcia Holmes of Kill Devil Hills, NC and Eugene Harris of Woodbridge, VA. She was a dear, loving Grandmother to Kristin Alvarez, Morgantown, West Virginia; Michael Holmes, Sandy Brech, Alison Burke, Jenifer Pauley, Paul Harris, Jr., and Chris Bachman - all of Virginia. She is also survived by nine wonderful great-grandchildren. Charlotte was the beloved wife of Ewell Harris and mother of Paul Harris of Woodbridge, both already with Jesus.

Charlotte was a member of Triangle Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for over thirty years. She moved to Kill Devil Hills, NC to live with her daughter five years ago. She was an avid crossword puzzle solver and loved to read. Everyone who met her was blessed by her bright smile and loving and gentle spirit - she will be sorely missed by all.

The viewing will be at Mountcastle Funeral Home, Dale City, VA 22193 on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be at Triangle Baptist Church on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:30 a.m, with interment to follow at Quantico, VA. A reception will follow at the church. Monetary donations, in Charlotte's memory, may be sent to Triangle Baptist Church.
