Peter Fuller Janss Retired Major Peter Fuller Janss peacefully died on Sunday, November 28, 2010 in Charlotte, NC.

He was born on September 20, 1935 to Esther Fuller and Peter William Janss, of Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1953, He entered the Marine Cops on January 2, 1957 and proudly served 20 years protecting our county. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He is preceded in death by his parents Esther Fuller and Peter William Janss of Des Moines, Iowa and survived by his loving and caring wife Ann, his son, Peter Martin Janss of Wheaton, Illinois, daughter Kirsten Janss Hall of Charlotte, NC; his sister May Janss Turner of Atlantic, Iowa and her family; his six fantastic grandchildren, Elle Janss, Jillian Janss, Darby Janss, Kailey Hall, Lindsey Hall and Riley Hall.

Memorial services will be set at a later date when his remains will be interred into Quantico National Cemetery. The family wants to thank all the professionals at Levine Dixon Hospice House for their caring and prayers. The family also asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Levine Dixon Hospice House 11900 Vanstory Drive Huntersville, NC 28078.

Dear Ann, Peter and Kirsten. We were saddened to learn of Pete's passing. Far too soon. Please know that we are thinking of you at this time. There are a lot of good memories out on the river, at the marina and at the QYC to reflect on. With our sympathy.
