Richard F. Weaver Sr. Richard F. "Dick" Weaver, Sr., age 76, of Mountville, Pa. and formerly of Woodbridge, Va. passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. He was born in Hanover to the late Fabian and Grace (Hockensmith) Weaver.

Dick is survived by his wife, Jane L. (Tretter) Weaver of Mountville, Pa. They were married on June 30, 1984.

He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church Lancaster, Pa.

Dick served with the U.S. Navy in the Korean War from 1952-1956. He was employed by the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. with the Department of Defense and retired in 1988. He held an office in the Pentagon and other locations in the D.C. area.

Dick was a 1951 Lancaster Catholic High School graduate. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, Santa Maria Assembly and belonged to the Knights of Columbus councils #2294 Columbia, Pa. and #5750 Woodbridge, Va. He was a coordinator with Lancaster Meals on Wheels, a member of the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #134 and a supporter of many local charities. Dick enjoyed fishing and was a Redskins fan. He was also a member of the St. Philips Church Choir.

Surviving in addition to his wife, a son, Joseph Weaver, companion of Jean Ault, of Alexandria, Va.; three daughters, Mary E. Doughty, wife of Jeffrey, of Ashburn, Va., Betty M. May, wife of Harvey, of Gainesville, Va., and Eileen B. Brown, wife of William, Jr., of Roundhill, Va.; three step-sons, David A. Davis, partner Keith, of San Francisco, Calif., Joseph E. Davis, husband of Jackie, of Mickleton, N.J. and Michael Davis, husband of Erica, of Aldan, Pa.; three siblings, Deacon Robert E. Weaver, husband of Judith, Betty Shelley and Mary Brown, wife of Henry all of Lancaster, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by a son, Richard Weaver, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. from St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pk., Lancaster, PA 17603 with The Rev. Mark E. Weiss as Celebrant.

A visitation will take place at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. A Christian Prayer Service will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 12 noon at the Mountcastle-Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, VA 22193. Interment with Military Honors will be in Quantico National Cemetery, Va.

Good Afternoon Jane and family. Barb and I have been in Indiana for the past week of so and just hearde of Dick's passing. Had we been here, we would have joined you at the Woodbridge services. We retired from Woodbridge and moved to Lake Anna VA over 10 years ago.

We'll keep Dick, you and your family in our daily prayers. God Bless. Wayne and Barb Gretencord.
