Mary D. Greenway

Mary D. Greenway, 90, of Triangle, VA, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in her home surrounded by loved ones.
Mary was born on September 28, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, to Herbert and Maria Caravella. She raised her family in Lavallette, New Jersey, before later settling in Virginia.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Mary spent over 50 years in the mortgage banking industry, where her commitment, integrity, and compassion left a lasting mark on colleagues and clients alike.
Throughout her life, Mary was actively involved in her community. She found great joy in volunteering, especially in cooking and providing food to those in need. Mary was also a gifted cook, painter, and quilter-creative passions that brought her tremendous happiness and allowed her to share her warmth and artistry with others. Her generosity and desire to serve others were at the heart of who she was.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her daughter, Kathryn Greenway. She is survived by her son Richard and his wife Barbara; her son Clay; her daughter Pamela and her husband Jimmy; as well as 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mary will always be remembered for her unshakable faith in the Lord, her deep love for her family and friends, and the warmth she brought to every space she entered. Her gentle spirit and welcoming smile were gifts that made everyone she encountered feel special. Patient, wise, and kind, Mary embodied resilience, grace, and unwavering love.
Her legacy will forever shine in the lives of all those she touched.
