KOEHLER - Florence Patte, 101, of Hilton Head Island, SC on February 26, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Conrad F. Loving mother of Helen Lennek of Bluffton, SC, Conrad F. Jr. and daughter-in-law Elaine Koehler of Hilton Head. Cherished grandmother of 6 and great-grandmother of 10. Born September 11, 1912 in Brockport, N.Y. Florence graduated from Brockport Normal School 1933. She took a teaching position in Brentwood, NY where she was one of four teachers at the time and taught in the four room school house on Third Avenue. In 1935 she married Conrad F. Koehler a local merchant. She was one of the original trustees of the Brentwood Library Board on which she served for many years. She retired from the Brentwood School District in 1968 and moved with her husband to West Islip and then to Hilton Head in 2003. Family will gather at the Michael J. Grant Funeral Homes Inc. 571 Suffolk Ave Brentwood on Saturday March 22nd at 10:00am where a religiouservice will be held at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Brentwood Cemetery. The family has asked that any donations be made in Florence's memory to Tidewater Hospice, 10 Buckingham Plantation Drive, Suite A, Bluffton, SC 29910
