BUERGER - Anne Luise, born October 13, 1943, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010, a victim of cancer. Anne was a student of both Art and Architecture. She was alsovery fond of her home in Sands Point, Long Island, where she enjoyed the woodlands, beaches and her pets. Anne is survived by her sister, Helene Buerger Peck, several nieces, cousins, great nieces and great nephews, and a dear friend, Max Katz, who was a comforting companion for many years and during Anne's lengthy illness. I am extremely saddened to hear of Ms. Buergers passing. She was my teacher, a mentor and friend for three years at the High School of Art & Design. She was a fantasticly bright and insightful person. I argued with her on many occassions as a student, but always admired her strength and perserverence to see that I did right as a student. I am a better person for having known her. I graduated from college with a Bachelor of Architecture, in no small part to her preparing me for my present career. I love you Ms. Buerger!
