Patsy J. Bolton

1940 - 2016

Patsy J. Bolton, 75, of Fairbanks, was taken into the arms of her savior Thursday, April 21, 2016, after a short but courageous fight with cancer. Patsy was born Aug. 7, 1940, the eldest daughter of Wilbur D. and Dorothy J. Pierce.
She was a graduate of Meadville High School in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and worked as a secretary in Washington, D.C., shortly after graduation. She later moved to San Diego, California, where she worked as a secretary for a local TV station before becoming a devoted stay-at-home mother to her two daughters. In 1972, she moved to Glenrock, Wyoming, where she worked as a bookkeeper at the Ford Garage and later as an administrative assistant at First National Bank of Glenrock.
In 1985, she moved to Fairbanks, where she worked in the financial services field with New York Life for more than 20 years, helping others prepare for their financial futures.
She took great pride in her work and helped so many people. She had recently retired and split her time between Hardy, Virginia, and Gold Canyon, Arizona.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Bill Bolton; her daughter, Susan Roling, and son-in-law Mike, of Alpharetta, Georgia; her daughter, Laura Crist, and son-in-law Nick, of Woodbridge, Virginia; and her son, Bob Bolton, and daughter-in-law Rachael, of Fairbanks. She also has two grandsons, Patrick and Pierce Cusick, of Alpharetta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Dorothy Pierce; one sister, Peggy Scott; and her son, Bruce Bolton.
Services were held May 3 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Salmon, Idaho.
A celebration of life for Patsy will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Northern Lights Free Will Baptist Church, located at 2365 Richardson Highway in North Pole.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, 2485-B Lost Mountain Road, Wirtz, VA 24184.
