Philithia Lindsey Obituary
Zebulon
Philithia M. Lindsey, 93, daughter of the late Eugene and Hattie Mitchell went home to be with her heavenly father on June 27, 2017. Philithia was preceded in death by her husband, Herman M. Lindsey and siblings Allen, Dewanna, Roy Mitchell, and Eloise M. Watson. Philithia was raised in Wake County where she was a member of the first graduating class from Wakelon High School in 1940 and retired from Dorothea Dix Hospital.
She is survived by daughters: Eugenia Williams (Robert), Anne Savage (Ed), Beth Barham (Curtis); 3 grandchildren: Rob Williams, Beverly Earp (Jon), Mitchell Savage (Sarah); 2 great-grandchildren: Nic and Aiden Earp. She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Willie Bea Lindsey and Eldred Lindsey; special friend Sue Goodwin.
The family will visit from 1:00 to 1:45 pm, Friday, June 30, 2017 at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church Sanctuary, 4525 Hopkins Chapel Road, Zebulon, 27597. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with burial at the church cemetery.
Flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made to Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church Youth Program or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wellington Healthcare for the past 5 years of care.
The family will also receive friends and relatives at 9332 Wakefields Oak Grove Drive, Zebulon, 27597.
