Dear Kelly and Family: I was so sorry to hear about Kirby today and can't stop thinking about you and your family. I started working with Kirby in 1986 at MetroHealth Turtlecreek. He was so fun to work with and a blast at after work gatherings. Everyone always gathered around Kirby to hear what he was going to say next. I soon started working with Kelly a few years later and remember when they had their first date and later their Gatlinburg wedding. I see from the many pictures that you still visit Gatlinburg just like we do. I know you all have lots of memories and stories that you will hold close to your hearts. I pray that peace be with you all during this difficult time.

Dear Kelly and Molly and the Davis Family,
I am so sad to hear about Kirby and so sorry for your loss. Kirby and I were good friends during his time at MetroHealth and M Plan in Indianapolis. I still have a clock on my desk that Kirby and the pharmacy department arranged for me when Kirby had a going away party for me at his home. He was a very special man - always quick with a joke and thoughtful of others as well. I wish I could count the number of times I repeated something funny he said to me - so many of us truly enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor. I know you must miss him very very much. I will keep you all in my prayers.

There are not enough words to describe Kirby. He was an amazing, caring, supportive, intelligent, boss a person could ask for! I am very blessed to have had someone like Kirby as a mentor in my career. Many people never have the privilege to say that. He is greatly missed not only professionally but on a deep personal level.
Kelly and the girls, I think of you daily, and am hoping that you are hanging in there! Please let me know of anything I can do for you!

Dear Kelly and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. I am greatly saddened by the loss of Kirby.
I worked with Kirby at Duke Medical Center on projects related to pharmaceutical procurement. He always had a smile and a good word to share and he made me and others laugh. To me, that was one of his special gifts...his humor. I will miss not being able to stop by his office, listen to him share about his family, which he adored, and enjoy a good laugh with him. May your faith and friends comfort you during this time.

I have worked with Kirby since he came to Duke. He was my lunch buddy along with Alice Walker, we shared many laughs every day until I went to a another department four years ago, but we still caught up every so often. I loved his Christmas cards where he would get creative and put his face as one of the 3 kings or other character on the cards. He was so much fun and easy going guy, he will truly be missed. My heart goes out to all of you.

I had the pleasure of working with Kirby upon moving to Durham. He brought comfort to me since we shared love for the Indianapolis Colts and were excited about Butler's win in the championship a few years ago.
