I am so thankful for the family gatherings at Bet Alford's.
La Rue always made her pound cake that everyone enjoyed.
My mother, Marian Stallings Murray, looked forward to those June reunions.
It was a good time to sit in the shade or sun and talk the afternoon away.
LaRue kept the address pad so we could all keep in touch.
What a blessing that she was able to live such a long and rich life with all her experiences with the Bailey Doctor's Museum. I loved listening to her and the time spent getting to meet relatives on my grand-Daddy's side of the family.
All of Aunt Pie's girls married and moved away but as they retired and came back to those reunions, they made an impact on my life. It's our roots that build our future generations. My sympathy to LaRue's daughters and their children. She will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours in the loss of this dear sweet soul. Mrs.King was such a pleasure to see come to our beauty shop. All of us loved for her to come "play"...she would cut jokes, sing and tell us great stories. What a wonderful personality and strong, smart true southern lady. Glad I knew her.
