Milton Evander Blackwood was one of the finest people I ever met. He led a life of service; first as a veteran of WW II, then the Navel Reserve and the NC National Guard.

This distinguished service was only a start, for he also served for 37 years with the Post Office, ending as Postmaster of Carrboro. He knew everybody and he knew our community.

Lastly, he served with the UNC Public Safety Office.

Through all this, he stood tall and straight, dedicated to God, his country, his wonderful family and to his friends. He has helped a multitude of people.

May his family take comfort in all the good things he has done.
