Evelyn Fortier Obituary

Evelyn V. Renner Fortier, 74, of Asheville, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. and Lydia Sailor Renner, husbands, Stephen Pugner and Charles Fortier, a step-son, Paul Fortier, a brother, Donald, and sisters, Shirley, Florence, Virginia, Joyce and Gail. Mrs. Fortier was born in Bethel, and worked for 35 years at Fairfield Hills Hospital, Newtown. She is survived by a daughter, Jodi-Ann Blakeley and husband, Doug; a son, Mark S. Pugner and wife, Mary Ann; two grandchildren, Adam Grant Blakeley and wife, Leala, and Lauren Kathleen McCall and husband, Corey; three sisters, Doris, Jeanette and Gloria; three step-daughters, Lynn, Charlene, and Marian Fortier; and a step-son, Charles W. Fortier III. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Asheville. Private interment will be at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, Asheville. Flowers will be accepted and appreciated, or memorials may be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 768 Asbury Road, Candler, NC 28715, or to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
