Eleanor Bartram Obituary

Eleanor Loretta Bartram , 87, of Ashlar of Newtown, died on January 30, 2007, at her residence after a long illness.
She was born in Danbury on June 10, 1919. Mrs. Bartram, formerly of the Glen Apartments in Danbury, was a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) there. The CERT program, part of Homeland Security, is a team of volunteer responders, especially trained to assist in the event of a disaster. The oldest active member of the group on record, she was certified in CPR and first aid. She received a Presidential Service award from President Bush in recognition of 250 hours of service with RSVP in Danbury.
Her husband, Walter R. Bartram, predeceased her on April 7, 1975. She is predeceased by sons: Walter Jr. and Joseph, and an adopted son, Philip Williams.
Survivors include: two daughters: Kathleen Bartram; Sheila Hislop and son-in law, John, a son, Wayne, all of Danbury; daughters-in-law: Guadalupe, Beverly and Dorothy Williams Dallas, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Thursday at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends in the funeral home during the hour preceding the service from 6 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made to the Office of the Mayor-CERT Program, and mailed to The Office of the Mayor, 155 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810.

To all the Bartram Family,
I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. she was always very good to me and to my family.
I am saddened by her passing and wish that I could have been there but I was out of town visiting my grandaughter Susan and her husband Will. I know that Frank was there and talked with all of you. Again Iwould like to say how sorry I am for your loss and I will keep you in my prayers.
