Arthur J. Liedel

CHURCHVILLE

Colonel Arthur J. Liedel, 77, of Churchville, Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010.

He served 35 years in the United States Marine Corps.

Art was an active volunteer in the ELKS, American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Saint John's The Evangelist Catholic Church of Waynesboro. He was loved and will be missed by many and he especially loved and enjoyed his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; three sons; two daughters; nine grandchildren; four brothers; and three sisters.

The family will receive friends at Saint Johns from 2 until 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010.

A mass will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Saint John's. Interment will follow 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Quantico National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Art's memory to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 3800 Fettler Park Drive, Suite 104, Dumfries, VA 22025.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the church family of Saint John's and many other family and friends who were so faithful with calls, visits, cards and prayers.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of arrangements.
