Mary Freda Harner, 91, of Waynesboro, passed away in her sleep on Saturday morning, October 9, 2010, at her residence.

Mary was born on December 16, 1918, in Hutchinson, Kansas, a daughter of the late Jacob and Sarah Schrock Troyer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. Harner; and a step- daughter, Joann Godshall.

Survivors include her children, Gloria A. Wegman of Harrisonburg, Arden R. Harner and his wife, Beverly, of Waynesboro, David A. Harner and his wife, Velma, of Fishersville, Michael R. Harner and his wife, Daphne, of Lyndhurst; a stepdaughter, Louise H. Swartz of Stuarts Draft; a stepdaughter, Elsie M. Brunk and her husband, Harry, of Harrisonburg; brothers, Perry, Calvin and Ray Troyer of Hutchinson, Kansas; sisters, Bertha Troyer of Hutchinson and Esther Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Hildebrand Mennonite Church, with Pastor Rader Ogden officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street, Waynesboro.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Jonathan, Arden R., Craig, Christopher, Kenny and Stuart Harner and Bruce Swartz.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Mary Freda Harner's memory, to Hildebrand Mennonite Church, c/o Valley Brethren Mennonite Heritage Center, P.O. Box 1563, Harrisonburg, VA, 22803.
