Violet Marie Bruce Drumheller FORT DEFIANCE

Violet Marie Bruce Drumheller, 76, of Fort Defiance, loving wife of 56 years to Carson Miller Drumheller found eternal peace with her Lord on Friday, November 5, 2010.

She was born September 21, 1934, in Harriston, the daughter of the late Nettie Bea and Sadie Pearl (Shifflett) Bruce.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Otis Bruce and his wife, Margaret (Estes); and sisters, Annie Ponton, Laverta Coffey and Reba Collins Floyd.

She was a loving and kind person with a generous heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her seven children, Vince Drumheller, Anita Harris and her husband, Steve, Bonnie Harriston and her husband, Ben, Randy Drumheller and his wife, Valinda, William Drumheller and his wife, Rose, Tammy Drumheller and her husband, Travis, and Chris Drumheller.

She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers, Fairy Estes, Gernie Conner, Otho Bruce and his wife, Thelma, and Hobert Bruce and his wife, Meredith; brother-in-law, Ray Ponton; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. William Kopp, Pastor of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be sons, Vince, Randy, William, and Chris Drumheller; sons-in-law, Steve Harris, Ben Harrison and Travis Crapps.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 618 West Main Street, Waynesboro, Virginia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Fire Department, P. O. Box 38, New Hope, VA 24469.

Carson; It's been decades, but I want to express my condolences on the loss of your wife. I never had the honor of meeting her, but she must have been a great person and a faithful wife.
