Howard E. "Dick" Millman

Millman, Jr., 82 Lewes Howard "Dick" E. Millman, Jr. passed away at home on Tues., Jun. 9, 2015. He was born on Sept. 12, 1932 to the late Howard E. and Una C. (Rust) Millman. Howard served his country with the Army during the Korean War, being Honorably Discharged in 1962. He owned Montgomery Ward Catalog Sales Agency in Rehoboth. Many will also know him as owner and operator of Millman's Appliances for over 35 years, prior to his retirement in 2004. Mr. Millman was a member of the Henlopen Grange #20, Sussex Pomona #2 and the Delaware State Grange. He was on the Grand Staff of Delaware Masons, also serving as Past Master in 1975 with Jefferson Masonic Lodge #15 and Kent & Sussex Scottish Rite Consistory. He was also involved with Gideon's International and the Lewes Senior Center. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Olive M. Stewart, Edward R.P. Millman and William D. Millman. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley (Little) Millman; sister, Leah Millman Elliott and husband, Phillip; sister-in-law, Judy Bowman; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Fri., Jun. 12, 2015 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton. Funeral services will take place on Sat., Jun. 13, 2015 at 2 p.m. at White's Chapel United Methodist Church, 15373 Coastal Highway, Milton, where friends may call at 12 noon. Interment will be at White's Chapel Cemetery.
