Emilio Bonilla

BONILLA, EMILIO Emilio Bonilla, 92 of 2952 Beach Street West, Tampa, Florida, formerly of New Haven died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. He was the beloved husband of sixty seven years to Tomasa Rosario Bonilla. Mr. Bonilla was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on August 6, 1918, a son of the late Ramon and Otilia Sanchez Bonilla. He had lived in New Haven for twenty three years, before moving to Tampa twenty years ago. Mr. Bonilla retired from the former TRW Geometric Tool Co. of New Haven in 1984. He previously worked for the former Gant Shirt Co. of New Haven and the former Universal Industries of West Haven. He was a longtime member of the Star of Jacob Church, New Haven. Besides his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Ruth Cordero, Maria Bonilla and Zoraida (Ismael) Roman of New Haven, Doris (Luis) Suarez of North Haven, Abigail (Jose) Alicea of Stamford and Lydia (Jose) Torres of West Haven, three sons, Luis (Migdalia) Bonilla of Sabana Seca, Puerto Rico, Wilfredo (Merida) Bonilla of Tampa and Rafael Bonilla of Deltona, FL, two brothers, Cecilio and Santiago Bonilla of Vega Baja, twenty one grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He was predeceased by a sister, Ermelinda Bonilla, and a grandson, Ricardo Bonilla. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Star of Jacob Church, 506 Howard Ave., New Haven. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
