Alberta was born March 1, 1917, in Kansas, to James and Ellen (Hamm) Cure and graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing, in Concordia, Kansas. She worked at John Hopkins during WWII. She also served as the Director of Nursing at Bishop Clarkson Hospital for over 35 years, retiring as the Director of Nursing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Anderson; sons, David and Everett; and daughter, Susan; son-in-law, Tom Emge; grandson, Clayton.
Survivors include daughters, Geraldine Emge, of Crescent, Iowa and Patty DeBolt and husband, Gary, of Inola, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, Tom A. Emge, Pat Emge, Lynda Emge, Darci Mackey, Dawn Neighbors, Dusty Groff, Adam Potter, Denise Doyle, Cristian Mackey and Daniel Mackey; 17 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren.
Visitation with family Friday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill Walnut Hill Chapel, 1350 East Pierce Street. Funeral services Saturday 1:30 p.m., at Cutler- O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel, 545 Willow Ave, followed by a luncheon at the Cutler-O'Neill Walnut Hill Reception Center. Interment Monday 12 p.m., King Cemetery, Vail, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.
