I never wanted to have something in my life that I couldn't stand losing, but I'm so glad that I did. As another year passes and so much has happened, nothing is the same without you being here with us. I know you are, in spirit, and I sometimes feel your presence, but to have you here will be something I wish for each and every morning when I wake, and each and every night when I go to sleep. Had a nice Easter at Grandma's with Net and Paul, Mum and Dad, Fred,Josh and your beautiful little nephew Harvey, Neek and Darren, Paige and Aaron. Hope you liked our singing on the balcony. Neek says you would be proud of us. We had our cheers to you but know you were with us making sure we celebrate in style, your style, (lots of wine and beer)Are you keeping track of Bianca and Jordan's house build? As one of your favourite times of year arrives I remember with a smile how much you loved and protected your easter eggs,your many hiding places in your bedroom and how selective you were about who you would share them with. I was explaining the funny things that went on at work on sat to some people that didn't get to meet you. You know the time you stuck my little Jordan into the file canbet and shut the door until I opened it....and when you put him on the shelf that was one foot from the roof. And the lucky last was the grape fight we had with Jordi and Dee....no one can take these fabulous heart warming memories away. I spent a little longer looking at your photo last night. How did you get to be so handsome? I guess I'll let your Mum and Dad debate that.
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy our talks, even though they're a bit one-sided. I hope it's not too boring listening to what's happening in my world. Even though you can't talk back to me I still hear your voice and even though I can't see you I remember your smile. I imagine you laughing at me and teasing me about some silly thing I'd done. Well, as you know nothing's changed but we'll keep my latest little hitches to ourselves. Only you and I have to know about my problem with the keys and it's probably best to forget about the wardrobe malfunction.
Nick, I think of my Mum when I think of you and feel happy she's in such good company. When you see her tell her I'll talk to her soon if I haven't caught up with her in the meantime. Until our next little chat, keep smiling. You'll always be my shining star.

Some people make a difference just by being who they are, and even when they are gone they still play a part in the smiles and memories that are treasured in the heart . Nick was a very special person , and the world is a lesser place today. I remember he had a way of making everyone around him feel comfortable even if he didn't know them well. He would patiently listen to us reminisce about the past and joke and laugh at our stories. We are lucky to have shared some happy times with him.

Our memories together are always in my heart and with each one, I smile and laugh because that's what you did for people everyday. When I moved out, I found a cd that i borrowed about 10 years ago and while our taste in music was questionable back then, It felt like you we're sitting next to me as I listened to it. Our friendship has lasted for majority of my life and I wouldn't change a thing.
Its not everyday a loyal, funny, caring and bright friend walks into your life so I know that myself, your friends and family are truly the lucky ones.

Not a day goes past when I don't remember you in some way - your quirky dance moves, silly jokes or infectious laugh.
The other week at Toukley, Matt and I were retelling your infamous Thailand stories and I had tears of laughter. We always seem to tell them to anyone who will listen and for a second it felt like you were still there.
Things have never been the same since you left, but we always remember you with a huge smile.
For your birthday last year, Troy and I went to the pub and bought you a beer. It broke my heart leaving it there because I know you were never one to leave a drink undrunk!
To be completely honest, I don't think I ever truly appreciated what an amazing friend you were until you were gone. But I hope you know that because of you I really appreciate each day and try to make the most of every situation.
Nick, I'll never forget your amazing spirit and I hope your family know how much you were loved by our group of friends and by me.

Alot of people I've met that never knew Nick have asked me about him. "What was he like?" I can never respond, except to say "well, he was just...Nick!"
The words that can describe this guy have not been invented. I've never met someone so approachable and gentle, but so passionate and strong at the same time. Nicks way of looking at things was so unique, I think thats what I miss about him the most.
One of the greatest guys that I ever knew, and I miss him.

Not a day goes by that I dont think about you and the time we shared.. I miss you so much it hurts and the thought of growing old without you brings tears to my eyes. Nick had such a special way about him, a way that could make you feel like you were the most important person in the world to him, just the little things like if we were rostered on to work together the big welcoming grin he would have as I walked in the front door followed almost always by the biggest hug. Work was ALWAYS fun when Nick was there, he had the art of making even the crappy days happy I wish I could just open my heart and mind and let you look inside to see the lasting impression that will be eternally etched in my soul by Nick, I think of him every day as I know you do my life was made better for having had someone like Nick in it I love him to the moon and back.

One of my favourite Nick stories is the night of Nicky and Luke's wedding.
The wedding was finished but Nick and Troy decided that they were not ready to call it a night. I was pregnant with Sienna at the time and just wanted to get home to bed. Nick came up and put his arm around me and said, "Mone, can Troy please come out with me? I promise I will look after him and get him home safely". I agreed and headed home to bed.
At about 5:00 the next morning I woke to sounds of people out the front of the house. I listened to see if it was Troy and Nick and all I could hear was Nick saying to Troy "Just stand up and walk straight, you are going to get us both in trouble off Mone". I looked out the blinds and there was Nick dragging Troy up the front lawn, both of them giggling like little school kids. I flew to the front door and flung it open ready to give them both an earful and there was Nick standing there with that famous heart melting grin, holding Troy up. Nick seemed very pleased with himself as he said, "See Mone, I told you I would get him home safely". Well there was no way you could get mad at Nick when he flashed you that smile. I told them both to get inside to bed and that is where they both stayed for the best part of the day.

I love and miss Nick because he used to tickle me and play games with me. I loved playing with him. I love him in my heart so much. I used to sit on the lounge with him and I loved it when he cuddled me. I liked it when he had sleep overs at my house. I love the rainbow candle that mummy went to the shop and bought just for Nick. I worked with nick many times at Evans street rooms, and as you know nick was always out for a joke, and I loved working with him, I always greeted him when he came to work with good morning 'Nicky baby", and he would reply with a grin, good morning "Old Girl". When I purchased an Apple computer, it was Nick, help me, and when my co-worker Margaret said lets go on Skype so we can talk and see each other but could not work out how to do it. We both brought our lap tops in, said Nick set us up on Skype, you don't have to do any collecting, we will do it, you just sit in the kitchen and get our Skype program working so we can talk to each other and see each other, same thing with our Bluetooth in our cars, it was Nick, help us, or Nick I bought an iPad, can't connect my WIFI, he used to say to us why do you two buy these things and you can't use them, we would smile and say we have you to help us.
Some time back, I can't remember when it was summer last year 2011, all the staff knew what Nick was up to, except me, I took a patient into the room for blood test, not knowing that Nick had squashed himself into a cupboard in the collecting room before I took the patient in. I took patient's blood, and the patient was rambling on about something, I can't remember, so as usual just let them ramble on until they realise they are keeping others waiting, patient leaves room. Suddenly Nick springs out of cupboard, red faced and says I thought she would never shut up, and go, I was melting inside that cupboard, I got such a shock him springing out the cupboard, I crossed my legs laughing, so much, he said you didn't did you old girl? I said no not this time, working with you Nick I have learnt to cross my legs pretty fast, it's either that or incontinence pads.
I still miss seeing him on the job, and each night I say goodnight to his photo, next to Mazza's, he made me smile, he was a joy to work with, and so I say goodnight to you Michelle, and goodnight "Nicky baby".

It is so sad to lose someone so dear and someone so loved with such a bright future that now won't be realised. Please take comfort in the fact that Nick obviously had a very joyful life filled with love and laughter.
The 'celebration of life' was lovely and he was honoured beautifully. I am sure that even though the future seems very bleak and hard to face, Nick would love to see you smiling again soon.

I remember this one day Nick thought it would be a good idea to hide in the cupboard and wait for Robbie to come walking past to get the toilet paper out, well turned out that Robbie got the paper from a different cupboard and it meant that meant Nick was left waiting in there for about 15 mins(very patient), so anyway, most people would have given up but not Nick he started making these scratching noises and Robbie being as gullible as she is went in search, well I was just about crying with laughter I could hear Nick in the cupboard getting frustrated because she kept bypassing him it was hilarious, finally after about 10 mins she open the cupboard, well he JUMPED out at her, she screamed, he started doubling over in pain laughing Robbie threatened she would get him back, and so started Nicks crusade to hide in places where people would least expect. On a daily basis it was his mission make people scream he said it made him laugh, this included simply sneaking up behind you and digging his fingers into your ribs, to laying down under the front reception desk and grabbing your foot!!!!!! he nearly put some of them through the roof, I was nearly always somehow prepared so he got me in other ways but that's a whole other story.
