JANIEC John M., 73, of Nutley died Saturday March 21, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family after a two year courageous battle with cancer. Born in Clifton, he lived in Nutley for 35 years. Mr. Janiec was a retired teacher. He was employed for 34 years at the Saddle Brook High School and retired as the director of their Fine & Industrial Arts Program. He received his BA and his MA in Education from Montclair State University. He was a member of the K of C Council 2346, Nutley, Nutley Elks Lodge 1290, American Legion Post, Athenia Veterans Post, Garden State Sportman's Club all of Clifton, and the NJEA. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his beloved wife; Anne C. (Dillon) Janiec, his son; John M. Janiec, Jr., his brothers; Robert and Frank Janiec. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. John was predeceased by his sister; Helen DeLise. Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home www.swbrownandson.com, 267 Centre St., Nutley on Wednesday 9 AM with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Bloomfield. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.

I knew Mr Janiec from Saddle Brook High School.He was a great man and a fun person.I am so sorry for your loss...God bless you at this time..my prayers re with you..
