Our family's deepest sympathies are extended to the loved ones of Johnny Johnson. My father, Richard "Richie" Bennett, joined the N.Y. Football Giants as a ball boy in 1955 and became friends with this wonderful man seeing him regularly at the stadium until my dad's retirement in 2010. My father's health prevents him from attending the viewing on Friday but he asked me to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family. We hold a very special place in our hearts for John J., memories of trips to Washington and Philly. Sideline waves to us girls in the stands. After game tailgates in Yankee Stadium, New Haven and the Meadowlands. We think of him often and are so sorry for your loss. AKA FRANK CARIA EXPRESS CO.

Johnny Johnson started as the Manhattan College trainer two years before I was born. He took care of my teammates and myself as we went through Mahnattan. He treated my athletes when I coached there. He treated us all as though we were the most important athletes on the planet. So many of us have been so blessed to have known this man.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow "Jasper Maker" and the family at this time. Staff -- current and past -- are recognized, remembered, and prayed for. We are mindful of the service of these good men and women that comprise the Jasper "forge" that making us what we are. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

I met Doc at Manhattan College in 1953 as I began my college life. John always had a smile on his face and gave good advice. God Bless
