I am so sorry Sharlet to hear of Jason's passing today. I am in Afghanistan, and a few months ago I was here with Jason. We worked together in Culpeper as well for almost two years on the same watch, and he was the one that trained me. We became good friends and talked all the time online after your assignment. The thing that I admired the most about him is that he loved his family. Never a conversation without saying how much he adored you and the children. He trusted no one else to take care of his family. And now, he has allowed you to go into the trusted hands of God. My prayers are with you and your family. God Bless and Keep you...

My deepest sympathy goes out to your family. I remember when i first meet Jason, It was at the embassy, he walked up to me and said i hear your from Maine. So i said yes, he wanted to know what town i was from and i told him Albion, he said that funny i grew up in the Winslow. With further talks and conversations we had a lot in common. Know some of the same people and the same places. Hard to believe have to travel half way around the world to meet your next door neighbor. And when you get a little home sick. It's always nice to be able to talk to someone that know where you come from. I consider him a good friend. Rest in peace.

Jason was my friend, and I'll always enjoy the memories of sparring with him at Huard's way back when. I liked Jason, and my world is a darker place for the loss, but brighter still for having known Jason.

I don't know where to begin. We trained briefly together and shared moments of success as well as disappointment. In the long periods of not talking to each other due to our jobs, somehow, we became good friends. It is only at the end of receiving the news that I realized how truly important that friendship was. Thank you for by being a good friend you will be missed. My sincerest sympathies and regards for Sharlet, the kids and other surviving family members.

I am so sorry for your loss with Jason's passing. I had only met him and his family once when they visited Maine a few years ago. He was an outgoing guy and a great father.
I am thankful to have been able to meet him, his wife and adorable children. Also, thank you Jason and Sharlet for letting the kids go with my daughters, Nicole, Derek and I to the Gray Animal Park; we had a great time and will always have those memories.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I can't express how shocked I was to learn of the news of your passing. It came as a complete and total surprise. I remember working with you in Virginia and you were one of the first people to 'show me the ropes' if you will at my new position. I have nothing but positive memories of you, you were always quick to pull off a good joke or witty comeback. You brought humor (wrist control!), good energy, and calm to the workplace.

I still remember that time you needed help putting up your plasma TV in the newly renovated living room so I drove what took almost an hour and half to your house to help out, when you jokingly told me it would only take 45-mins! LOL I guess the joke was on me :)

It still blows me away that we chatted on FB about two weeks ago and we were going to meet up and have lunch/dinner sometime soon now that you were back Stateside.

You will be missed bud. My deepest regards and sympathy to your surviving family members.
