Frank Allanson Obituary

Frank "Poppa" Thomas Allanson, 64, of Winchester, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Allanson was born April 18, 1947 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Frank Allanson, Jr. and Belva Marie Brannon Allanson.

He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church and the National Rifle Association.

He married Victoria Lynn Fahnestock on March 20, 1969 in Hancock, Maryland.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Frank Howard Allanson (LeeAnna), Tobias "Toby" Justin Allanson, Betsy Leigh Allanson-Thomas (Hassan), Matthew Morgan Allanson (Carrie) and Mary Elizabeth McLean (Mark); his sisters, Debra Olan Bruce, Cheryl Smith and Cynthia Biggs; his brother, Timothy "Giz" Allanson; and his grandchildren, Thomas Michael Justin Allanson, Gideon Israel Thomas, Aaron "AJ" Judah Thomas, Austin Briar Allanson, Kailyn "KK" Rebekah Allanson, Gunner Cole Allanson, and Amanda Dawn Powell.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Bible Church with Rev. Mark Carey officiating. Burial will be in The Quaker Cemetery on Cedar Creek Grade.

Pallbearers will be Sam Pitcock, Steve Fincham, Gabe Fahnestock, Caleb Fahnestock, Aaron Racey, Rusty Combs, Thomas Allanson and Kenny Funk.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chip Franklin and Denny Wolford.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
