Aunt Joan,, We would like to express our condolences to you and your family. This poem was sent to me after my mother passed and I thought it appropriate to pass it on..

Loss of Mother Poem

Now that I am gone,
remember me with smiles and laughter.
And if you need to cry,
cry with your brother or sister
who walks in grief beside you.
And when you need me,
put your arms around anyone
and give to them what you need to give to me.
There are so many who need so much.
I want to leave you something --
something much better than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people I've known
or helped in some special way.
Let me live in your heart
as well as in your mind.
You can love me most
by letting your love reach out to our loved ones,
by embracing them and living in their love.
Love does not die, people do.
So, when all that's left of me is love,
give me away as best you can.

Oh Joan I am so sorry for your family's loss. Your mom was a wonderful wife, mom and grandmother. She will eternally be that wonderful person we all know and love and will always play a part in whatever decisions you and your family make in life. Forever in my heart and in my prayers. xoxo

We have known Sylvia since the early 60's and remember her sense of humor and fun attitude. All those years we followed each other from base to base are full of fun memories. Even though we haven't seen Sylvia for years she will always be a part of our lives and missed.

Joan, the entire family sends our condolences and deepest sympathy. Ms. Sylvia was a remarkable gal. From our days at CSA together, SFB always found a way to keep life interesting. Fond memories of paper punch holes and dead fish. She supported us with tears of joy and laughter, as we adopted the kids. As our Mary Kay lady (and lady at all times and all occasions), she taught our girls the rights and wrongs of make-up etiquette. As a Mom and Grandmother, hard to top. As a friend, she can never be replaced. She will always have a special place in our hearts. With much love!
