All the fun times of fireworks seasons that we had with Stu won't be as fun anymore without him. We lost a friend, coworker, and talented pyrotechnician.

To the Haverty family. Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss. When I learned that todays service I was planning to attend turned private-and rightfully so-I opted to share my thoughts with you here. As a parent of his friend and classmate, Kayla, I first recall him being one of the 'hearthrobs' of middle school-and he was a cutie! He was seemingly quiet & shy at the time but opened up as the 'gang' hung out at our house frequently. He obviously loved his family and I remember he shared his pride when his brother was first in the service. It came as no surprise to me when he bought his house as Kayla headed over with a housewarming gift and to 'help' decorate (quite the sacrifice as she is petrified of birds I might add!) I thought it was quite an undertaking at such an early age - but wasn't that just like him! As I read your entry in this guestbook I can't help but truly admire your strength. May you continue to find strength in the many memories of your son and brother as he rests in Gods loving arms. Peace be with you all. He is missed by so many. God Bless, Barb Aavang, JoyAnn & Kayla Oberman

We didn't know Stu as an adult, but remember him warmly from middle school days. Please know that there are many like us in Woodstock - people whose names you might not know, but who are thinking of you and holding you close in our hearts and prayers. May God bless your family and help to bring you healing during this difficult time.

Our boy Stuart will remain in our hearts always as a fun, hard-working, quirky, lovable young man. As many of you know, Stuart came into our family as its only left-handed member. Anyone who has ever been associated with southpaws, whether it be a pitcher on a baseball team or (in Stu’s case) an artistic, hands-on, machinist, will know that they are different from the rest of the crew. Stuart’s individuality was embraced by his friends, classmates, and co-workers from the time he left the womb. Consequently, Stu returned this tolerance for anyone he encountered who strayed in any way from the norm. This is reflected in the intense loyalty he displayed for all of his friends and peers from the captains of the teams to the studious and withdrawn…….from the most popular person in the class to those with insecurities that kept them out of universal acceptance.

A huge hole will exist in our lives and hearts until the day that we are finally reunited with our lovable little Stu McNu. Leaving this world will no longer create anxiety for us as we complete our journey on this planet. We will be heartened by the prospect of embracing our boy once again in the hereafter and for the rest of time.
