Nancy Killian Obituary

HUNTLEY – Nancy J. Killian, 64, of Huntley, passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock.
She was born July 22, 1946, in Elgin, to Ray and Doris (Tracy) Ball. On Oct. 27, 1979, she married Barney Killian in Huntley.
She was a devoted health care worker for 32 years with the Sheltered Village in Woodstock. She was a member of the Huntley American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to spend time with family and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Shelly (John) Goers of Huntley; her son-in-law, Evelio Herrera of Huntley; her granddaughters, Jennifer (Craig) Pate of Algonquin, Sarah Herrera of Huntley and Kaylee Goers of Huntley; her brothers and sisters, Janet (Richard) Erath of Huntley, Dennis (Linda) Ball of Huntley, Connie (Joe) Huff of Hebron, Alan (Penny) Ball of Capron, Trudy (Tom) Jurs of Union, Terry (Margaret) Ball of Athens, Wis., Mark Ball of Joliet, Robert (Erin) Ball of Union and Scott (Lora) Ball of Union; her dear friend, Mandy Thomas of Anton, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Barney on May 5, 1984; her daughter, Kelly Jo Herrera on June 2, 2003; and her two sisters, Marlene Gentry and Rita Scott.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley. It will continue from 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. The Rev. Lance Lackore will officiate. Burial will follow in Huntley Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in her name to the charity of your choice.

I just heard today that you lost your Mom, my dear cousin Nancy. It came as a great shock to us. Sorry we could not have offered our sympathy sooner. Just exchanged our Christmas cards with updates and she was so happy to be retired. I am filled with so many happy memories of her. I know she will be missed by many for her kindness and smile always. You are in our prayers.
