Noah Rios Obituary

HUNTLEY – Noah Spencer Rios, 9, of Huntley, passed away Thursday evening April 28, 2011, in the comfort of his loving family.
He was born Jan. 10, 2002, to William and Rebecca Jo (Matheson) Rios. He attended third grade at Leggee Elementary School in Huntley. His youthful accomplishments substantiate the Heavenly Father's favor. We know him as a great example to all, a Church Primary Valiant, a Faith in God recipient, an energetically active Cub Scout, a Pinewood Derby champion, a compassionate brother, a loving friend, an honorable son, a brave little warrior and a believer. He also enjoyed playing soccer.
He is survived by his loving parents, William and Rebecca Jo; fond brothers, Daniel, Brandon and Zach; beloved grandparents, David and Loretta Matheson; his great-grandparents, Maria Vitela and Arnold and Roseabelle Manskey; his dear uncles, David (Carma), Jeffery (Pattie), Brent, Corey (Lisa), William (Josie), Christopher Matheson, Homero Reyes Jr. and Bobby Mario Guiterrez; and his loving aunt, Melissa Matheson.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, San Juana Rios.
A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1250 Parkview Drive, Elgin. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow in the Huntley Cemetery.
Heartfelt gratitude is extended to all those who made his season special: Make a Wish Foundation, Loyola Ronald McDonalds Children's Hospital, Leggee Elementary School & PTA, Relay for Life, Bear Necessities, Andrea Lynn Cancer Fund, Sin For Charity, All 4 One, The Breast Cancer Support Hour of Sun City, Vincent & Annabelle's Garden, Huntley Jaycees, Red Robin of Algonquin, Crystal Lake Muffler & Brake, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Elgin Third Ward.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Will and Becky Rios family or the Noah Charity Account at Harris Bank would be appreciated.

Noah was a shining star and you all knew it! I can't even imagine what your goung through, but, there are always friends and family to help you all out. God Bless your sons, you parents, and ALL OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS. God Speed and think about the great times. God needed him for a reason and you must accept that if you can. As I said, young kids don't want their friends to pass away, but, they do, unfortunely. Well God be with you and stay strong, as strong as you can, I feel you tears, and Noah will wipe them away one day, for you knowing he is perfectably with how you are and your family. Love, The Doetschs(Leggee}

Rios Family,

We were overcome with such strong emotion when we heard of Noah's passing. Please know that he was a great friend to our daughter, Rory.

No words can express how truly sorry we are for your loss and the plain and simple truth of it all is that there is no helpful explanation to explain why it had to happen to such a beautiful little boy. Hopefully we can all find solice in knowing that he is now watching over you and your family and is waiting to embrace you with love when the time is right.

You and your family are in our family's thoughts and prayers.

To the family of Noah,
When I first heard the story of Noah and his fight I too was fighting cancer. What a tragic loss for your family. It is hard to watch someone fight this awful illness but for this illness to attack a child is even more devastating. My heart goes out to you.

You all must keep the good memories you have of a family doing fun things. Remember that Noah will always be in your hearts and he would want you to live your lives to the fullest!

In prayer,
Lisa Mitchell
